What is a client intake form?

A client intake form collects the facts and documents a firm needs from a new client before work starts: contact details, the details of the matter or engagement, and supporting files. A form builder stops at submit. Intake that works also tracks what's still missing and follows up until the file is complete.

What to put in one

  • Only questions you need to start, grouped in short sections.
  • Questions that appear only when they apply to this client.
  • Upload requests that say which file you want and in what format.

How Tallyn differs from a form builder

Tallyn keeps track of each client's onboarding until it's complete, shows what's missing, follows up for it, and hands over a ready-to-start file. You describe what you need and it drafts the form, which you edit before sharing.

Questions

Can clients upload files in an intake form?

Yes, within the file types and sizes you set. Tallyn says what each document is and flags a file that isn't what you asked for.
